S.M. Bennett grew up in rural Australia. From an early age, she was aware of the contradictory nature of the Australian landscape, which could morph from dusty paddocks and smoky bushland to bursting rivers and rolling plains painted in squares of green, yellow and purple. These images from her childhood continue to inform the worlds she creates.
